📋 Before you record

Get set up first. Have these things ready before you press record.

📱
You film it inside the Google app

When Google is ready, it records the video right there inside the app. It is one single take. You cannot edit it, and there is nothing to upload from your camera roll.

🎥 What to film, in order

When Google is ready, it opens your camera inside the app. Walk slowly and film these three things, in this order.

Show where you are

Walk outside. Film your street sign, or the number on your house or building. Slowly look around at what is nearby. This shows Google the real place you work from.

Show your business

Film your work truck, your tools, and your equipment. Point the camera at anything with your business name on it, like a work shirt, a sign, or a magnet on your truck.

Show it is really yours

Unlock and open your front door, or open your truck. Then hold up the mail or license that shows your business name. This proves the business belongs to you.

📝 A few simple rules

Keep these in mind while you film. They are easy to follow.

🔒
Keep it private
  • Do not show anyone's face.
  • Do not film other people's private papers.
  • Do not show license plates you do not want on the internet.

After you send it

Google usually gives an answer within 5 business days. Sometimes it comes in minutes. Sometimes it takes up to 2 weeks. Either way, this is normal, so please be patient.

Do not send it twice

Do not submit another video while you wait. Sending a new one starts the clock all over again and slows everything down.

We keep an eye on your profile for you. The moment Google approves it, we let you know.
